FOSSAL S.A.A. is a public company, which is listed on the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) dedicated to investments. Its main investment is in Fosfatos del Pacífico S.A., which currently has a project for the exploitation of phosphate rock.

FOSSAL has been constituted to be the investment vehicle, as a result of a spin-off, through which it assumes ownership of 70% of the ownership held by Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A. in Fosfatos del Pacífico S.A.

This new structure creates greater flexibility and independence for shareholders and greater clarity in the operations of each division in the long term.

This separation will allow shareholders to participate individually in each business


Phosphoric Rock Project in the nortwest of Perú

Diatomite concession in the Bayovar 9 area, located in the North coast of Peru, with significant deposits of phosphate rock. Phosphate mine will be developed as a multi-layer, open pit mine, using continuous and conventional mining methods

The access to the bayovar mine 9 form Piura is through the panamerican highway by aprox. 110km and the 30km west on a paved road that connects the panamerican highway with Bayovar



Mr. Hochschild serves as Director since April 1991, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University, Boston, USA. Mr. Hochschild is also President of Hochschild Mining plc, Inversiones ASPI S.A. and is on the Board of Directors of UTEC and TECSUP, and Sociedad de Comercio Exterior del Perú (COMEX Perú). He is also an expert consultant for the Economic Council of the Episcopal Conference.




Mr. Morales received bachelor´s degrees in Economics and Management from Universidad del Pacífico and a Master´s degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA. Between 1970 and 1980 he served in various positions at Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

He served as General Manager at Banco de Crédito from October 1990 to April 2008. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Credicorp Ltd, Banco de Crédito del Perú, and El Pacífico Compañía de Seguros y Reaseguros. He is a member on the Board of Directors of Atlantic Security Bank, Alicorp S.A.A., Pesquera Centinela S.A., Grupo Romero, Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A., Salmueras Sudamericanas S.A., Fosfatos del Pacífico S.A., Cerámica Lima S.A., Corporación Cerámica S.A. and Inversiones y Propiedades S.A., as well as member on the Executive Council of the Peruvian Institute of Economy.




Mr. Nadal joined our company as Corporate Development Manager in June 2007 and has served as our Director since March 2008, and as Chief Executive Officer since April 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico and an MBA from Georgetown University.

He is also the CEO of ASPI, Fosfatos del Pacífico and FOSSAL. Moreover, he is a Ferreycorp officer and has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Universidad del Pacífico, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fondo Mi Vivienda. In April 2006, he joined Compañía Minera Ares S.A.C. (a subsidiary of Hochschild Mining plc) as Corporate Development Manager. Mr. Nadal has also served as Business, Administration and Finance Manager of the Instituto Libertad y Democracia (Freedom and Democracy Institute) and as Chief Executive Officer at Socosani S.A. He has been honored by the Institutional Investor magazine as one of the three best CEOs in the Latin American construction industry from 2014 to 2021 consecutively.




Mr. Zaldivar serves as Director since March 2017. He is a member of the Public Accounting Association, an Universidad de Lima alum and graduate of the Executive Development Program of Universidad de Piura’s PAD. In addition, Mr. Zaldivar holds an MBA degree from the Adolfo Ibáñez School of Management (USA).

He has been Chairman of the Board of the Lima Stock Exchange. Previously, at Ernst & Young, he was a Partner of Risk Management and Regulatory Matters, Senior Partner of the Firm’s Audit and Business Advisory Division. He has also been Vice Dean of the Lima Public Accountants’ Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Procapitales Corporate Governance Committee. He is currently an Independent Director of  Edpyme Santander Consumo and Compañía de Minas Buenaventura among other positions, highlighting his extensive experience of Corporate Governance issues.
